Wakayama. It’s famous for Shirahama seaside, but to be honest I wasn’t too excited about going there at first, thinking that nothing could compare to the Gold Coast. But the beach was gorgeous (and empty!), the seafood was super fresh, and the umeshu was delicious (now wondering where to buy decent umeshu in Sydney).
