It’s been a week and a half since I arrived back in Sydney. The first few days were a very pleasant dream, especially the bit where I got an unexpected gift from my brother (!!) but there are also a lot of unpleasant things that I haven’t managed to deal with yet. I still have several weeks of missed classes to catch up on, campus fashion remains terrible (why are girls still wearing leggings as pants??) and after one year in which I had fun all the time, even while studying, another two and a half years of this university degree sounds like forever.
But on the other hand, there are so many things I used to take for granted: fresh fruits and vegetables, meat everyday!, a fridge full of food, having my clothes washed & folded for me, never having to worry if store clerks are going to be able to understand me. Actually, there’s a lot I have to say about language, the power of words, and the strange experience of being Asian/Australian in Japan but they all probably need posts of their own :T
