always: 三丁目の夕日

I watched this movie yesterday after we were shown part of it in class. I’m a pretty fussy viewer but this was a great movie. Set in post-war Japan, it’s a slice-of-life type film revolving around a small community in Tokyo. Solid acting all around, combined with a script perfectly balanced between humor and sentiment. (It’s been a while since a movie made me cry.) Also, I have no idea how Horikita Maki manages to be so adorable all the time, but she does.
