Tiger JK, his music and his amazing family. I remember being blown away by 8.45 Heaven back in high school (I still don’t know of any other hip-hop artists who have written a song for their grandmother), but the passion, talent and love in this video makes the current k-pop scene fade into a kind of embarrassing insignificance. Definitely a must-watch.

たまたま (2011)
This movie felt something like a blend between an AC commercial, ramblings of indie filmmakers on acid and a behind-the-scenes look at an Aoi Yuu travelbook. It makes sense only at the end though, so I enjoyed it much more in retrospect than at the time of actual viewing.
2011: a year in review
01. What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before?
Rode a highway bus, wore a yukata & went to a festival, shojo-manga style, watched a movie in the theatres by myself, taught English.
While hundreds of underaged-looking kids headed to the Eminem concert on Friday, I went to the Opera House to see the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. ‘The Lost Art of Letter Writing’ was a bit too discordant for me (as the gentleman beside me put it, ‘there’s only so much out-of-tune violin one can take’) but on the plus side, it made the Brahms and Schubert symphony sound even more lovely.
I ended up sitting next to a couple of girls from my high school and their boyfriends, which was a little awkward for me and Z … story of my life, lol.
